On 7 December 1941, the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. As a result, young American men flocked to the Armed Services.
My Father was one of them. He chose the Navy.
Included here are the letters he wrote home from basic training and A-school and his journal depicting life on a minesweeper that saw action in the Battle for Leyte Bay.
Also included are researched info on his two subsequent assignments plus photos and brief histories of the ships.
