On 7 December 1941, the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. As a result young American men flocked to the Armed Services.
My Father was one of them. He chose the Navy.
Included here are the letters he wrote home from basic training and A-school and his journal depicting life on a minesweeper that saw action in the Battle for Leyte Bay.
Also included is general info on his two subsequent assignments and photos with a brief history for each ship he served on.
